Welcome to Nether Heage Playgroup
Nether Heage Playgroup extends a warm welcome to children (and parents) from the age of 2 years through to when they start school. Over the past 30 years we have provided a safe and friendly environment in which children learn through play. We offer fun, stimulating and educational activities using both indoor and outdoor facilities.
Our staff are all well qualified to care for your children and our staff to children ratio is high (1:5), meaning that we can give individual one-to-one care as and when needed. At Nether Heage Playgroup, we believe that each child should have the best possible start in life with support that enables the fulfilment of potential. As we all know, children develop very quickly in their early years and what happens to them between birth and the age of five can have a tremendous impact on future life chances. A happy childhood is – or should be – paramount to everyone caring for children as should their security and safety also be. An environment where good quality learning takes place is a major factor to enable children to make the most of their abilities as they grow.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all we early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn through play and contact with their peers to help develop their social and interactive skills. We aim to provide our children with the knowledge and ability to integrate into the education system with a good foundation base.
As we are registered with OfSTED we are able to offer free places to eligible children from the age of three years. Our group had its latest OfSTED inspection in March 2011 and received a “Good” rating (only “Excellent” is above that!) and you are able to read this either by following the link provided or requesting a copy from the contact page.
